Top 10 places to sell your designs :)

  • As a graphic/web designer, it isn’t easy to find a new home for a design you just made.

I’ve put together a little list of about 10 websites, where you may go and sell your designs for free…..

Often, we end up with a stock pile of designs no one wants…..no point looking into the reasons for that, for – they may vary.

Anyway, instead of discarding them or selling them for cheap on forums as PSD files….why not spend a little more effort, and convert them into themes?

The idea is simple….at the end of the day, you should have a valid XHTML|CSS compliant website/wordpress template you can list for sale (with exclusive rights  ) on the following portals.

Graphic Leftovers – Sell logos, icons, illustrations, templates and more through this site. Graphic Leftovers pays higher royalties than many comparable sites.

CoSwap – Swap your designs or codes for something else you need, or sell your work outright.

ThemeForest - Sell stock web design templates and earn at least 40% of the sales price. (I recommend this site)

GraphicRiver – Sell vector images, layered Photoshop files and more.

WP Theme Market – Design and sell WordPress Themes.

Clever Andy – See your designs turned into fully-functioning sites and then earn commission on the total sale price.

Templamatic – Upload and sell your own website templates.

CMS Market – Sell templates, extensions and more for Joomla and WordPress (Drupal will be added soon).

Digital Point Buy, Sell or Trade Forum – Sell templates or entire sites on this forum. (A lot of scamming has been happening here lately, but oh well….those are perils we must all deal with)

SitePoint Marketplace – SitePoint is a market place meant for the best designs in my opinion

I think Digital Point does not give you the market value. Others look good.

Well, once in a while one does see a decent sale over at DigitalPoint.

But yes, it is one of the last few places I would go to – to sell my designs.
